‘just like the totenkopf’ except not at all. They’re nazis because of the nazi shit they do not because somebody made a challenge coin with an extremely basic toughguy badass tacticool motif.
Skulls have been common imagery for literally centuries, I do not understand this weird trend in the last few years where some people have decided that they’re exclusively a fascist symbol.
*Also the absurdity here of pointing at the brownshirts and going ‘umm, that imagery is a bit problematic.’
Are you seriously looking at this slop and thinking anybody was giving it a deeper consideration than ‘haha fuck yeah, badass’. I refuse to believe they’re thinking any more about the symbolism of the skull with the glowing eyes than they’re thinking about the symbolism of the explosion.
The only fascist part of the imagery is the border team names on the chests. Or just generally the celebration of their mission. The skull is possibly the least fascist thing on the coin.
It doesn’t have to be an exclusively fascist symbol to be a bad idea. Government agents should not be wearing or glorifying the universal symbol of death.
I do see what you are getting at. The whole thing is a bit like complaining about smelling someone’s fart as a tornado approaches.

Come on, man. It’s an image but also the meaning behind it.
