That’s one way to get in shape. They’ve had pre-basic programs for that for quite a while now. They’ll pay you to do it but I don’t think it counts towards your contract time until you make it to basic.
accordign to the article, older people are more likely to wash out from basic, so it doesnt help if your weight is voer the limit.
