Some of your claims are questionable. Cuba hasn’t been a serious flashpoint for a proxy war in decades, and Indonesia is generally close with the US. Their presence in Africa has largely been predicated on naked economic reasons, not so much space exploration. Hamas does use Chinese weapons, but to my knowledge there’s no link to China itself - they’re just smuggled weapons of various national origins. Hong Kong was always going to revert back to China - it was agreed upon in the lease China signed with the UK back in the 19th century. While the UK is a US ally, it would be strange to assert Hong Kong, specifically, was.

Cuba was used as a base to host nuclear weapons during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962, it’s still ruled by the Castro Family who handpicked the current president who worked for the regime for decades.

While I think maybe they’re as a whole not as loyal to China as they were the USSR, that there is room for negotiations, I do see it as a player in the ongoing cold war.

EDIT: Also lets not pretend the handover of Hong Kong was peaceful. China filled the street with soldiers, rolled tanks and convoys into the capital.

You can say China is propping them up, but propping them up for a proxy war is a stretch. The only people who’ve been barking for war with Cuba for at least the past 30 years have been, unfortunately, American politicians.

Sure, but Cuba has never been a serious battleground proposal in the course of my life, is all I’m saying. Not saying the PRC isn’t playing international games, just that Cuba is like… not particularly featured in anyone’s plans, except Cuba. And a few American warhawk lunatics.
