But bitching / threatening the worker - who is ringing up your purchase - about something that they specifically cannot control, and making their day worse? That’s an asshole problem that needs plugging.

Kinda. There’s usually a complaint department.
But bitching / threatening the worker - who is ringing up your purchase - about something that they specifically cannot control, and making their day worse? That’s an asshole problem that needs plugging.
