It’s like taking a screwdriver and removing the bit. Users are so used to copy/pasting content from LLMs, but now it’ll require at least a proofread to make sure you’re not randomly promoting Palantir to your grandmother.
This was inevitable. It’ll be fun to see the initial glut of “here’s an essay a student turned in with a Papa John’s ad in the middle of a paragraph”, though.
Along with ads I’m convinced they’ll eventually bias the model in favor of the highest bidder(s), regardless of the tier. They’ll argue the bias is “not really an ad”.
