Of course they know. Everyone knows. It’s been obvious for years just how bad social media is for literally everyone but especially to those with various developmental deficiencies (including children, adults with little to no reasoning capabilities, and those with medical reasons behind said deficiencies).
Any social media platform that is profit-oriented will have a vested interest in not just ignoring but actively hiding this information and any form of its confirmation. How else is Meta supposed to datamine kids who shouldn’t even be on the platform, to push the absolutely worst content to them? How are they going to sell “sexy AI boyfriends/girlfriends” and other crap services to kids? The list could go on.
You guys still use meta ?
Unfortunately most people are forced to by necessity. Messenger and Facebook are still used in communication and may be part of school projects especially. From the Philippines btw.
What Threadi users do (or do not do) is not that important (at least at this point).
The issue is that FM/Insta/WhatsApp probably each have 1B+ MAU.
And Meta is based in the US, which is highly corrupt and does not prosecute fraud and criminality if it’s done in a certain way.
Well almost no one I know wants to move from WhatsApp to Signal. And my porn goggles are from Meta.
