They definitely knew what they were doing.

    American Eagle? Like, c’mon.

At the very least, the resulting controversy is an intentional marketing campaign, since that’s the phase of capitalism we’re in now. At the most? This is one of the infortunately soon to be many American businesses seeking to benefit from the growing population of literal fascists in our country.

So a company that’s been around for at least 30 years that has “America” or “Eagle” in it’s name is proof they support Facism? Bank of America needs to change their name ASAP. I shopped there in my twenties’ and there wasn’t a whiff of neonazism in anything about them.

They might have done that on purpose, but until there is evidence of that, it is anything but definite. Right now, it’s pure feelings judging that. I’m on board with calling them out for being so clueless about the optics, but it will take a bit more for me to conclude they are collaborating in an effort to make fascism normal.

Calling anybody racist is a serious allegation, so it should not be done lightly. I think some information came out that might be evidence it is true, but I personally haven’t read details yet.

It is! And if anyone deserves the beneift of the doubt, I’ll give it to them. A company run by professionals does not deserve that benefit of the doubt, since all corporations consistently exploit such a thing.
