Most of the blocked instances you see for programming.dev (since your account is here) aren’t forums you would normally interact with but are various ones on the microblog side that cause issues (for hate speech, spam bots that have seo spam posted in various threads, cp, etc.). For forums running lemmy and piefed the amount is very low.
