One of my local favorites here in the Northeast is a soda manufacturer called Squamscot… they make soft drinks and have an outstanding Birch Beer flavored one, which I love making floats with.

Is it me or does he look like that Microsoft Windows guy in the old Get A Mac commercials?
I hear that music in the background, while the crowd yells at him to tax the rich and he kinda fumbles wth his papers…
God… it fits.
I dunno… the Tiny Dish of the Chef’s Sincerity looks like it may be a banger of an item…

I think a lot of people also forget that there was a gamut of immune response to Covid… It ranged from no issues at all to dropping dead within a few weeks. At what point did the low oxygenation in those made just ill enough from Covid to end up with breating problems, also get a touch of mental decline from that as well?
I know a lot of people that seemed much quicker on the uptake and had more mental acuity before Covid… and historically I’d be the first one to take the position that I don’t know shit and usually have my head up my ass. Now, I’m the one that seems to have my shit together when so many no longer do.
WTF?

Dementia.
Everyone thinks it means all of the sudden you stand in the corner mumbling at the walls and wearing your underpants above your clothes… but it starts oftentimes years ahead of diagnosis with irrational, defiant, rash decisions that are put down to stubbornness and age.
Also, Trump IS terrified of ending up like his father, so in keeping with what he learned from Roy Cohn, it’s about keeping everyone around him off-balance so they can’t tell if it’s really mental impairment, or some “5D chess” move he’s making.
Ultimately, he probably at this point, doesn’t know himself. Part malignant narcissist, part desperate terror, part dementia and part self-delusiuon.

Apparently not.

Ah, okay. that makes sense, and is good to know.

Am I incorrect, but isn’t LinkedIn fairly useless as a site for finding new employment? From what I’ve read of it, it has devolved into just another mediocre social network with the full assortment of trolls, spammers and con-men.

Finding Lemmy.zip and then finding the old layout that I can easily navigate and jumping in w/o missing a beat after getting sniped by a bot on reddit.
I love this place, it’s actually friendly and that is such a breah of fresh air.

Oohh, thank you for the link. I just skimmed through the comments… AJ from Saskatchewan absolutely nailed it!
Utterly delightful to read.

Oh fuck yes. I have all but given up on the NY Times for politics. Arts and culture and the metro pages are fine, but the rest is just SO tilted to the corporatist wealthy…

This isn’t surprising, given the agenda of the so-called “conservative” right for the last 46 years…
Indeed there is. Initially I tried to delete my account and I wrote in the “why are you leaving?” field when you close an account that “Hup-ho, it was time to go, good bye and good luck…” It was NOT a “please reconsider” appeal.
The deletion would NOT go through, then a day later I got the “appeal rejected” letter claiming it was approved by a person. I did NOT appeal.
So at that point I realized that something was definitely up with AI on the site beyond the comment bots and I pivoted to removing every bit of content I put in.
Got all my posts, but the comments on other users posts - well you only get access to what you put up in the prior year - a change that dropped with the IPO. before that, you could tunnel down into your comment history all the way back to your first one.
Also, as I was deleting, there was a weird resistance where I only got access to three pages worth of comments before the browser would get locked out and I’d get the account banned page with nothing else. I had - at the time - multiple junker laptops with active logins - so I’d switch up to those devices and continue on. Took several hours over three evenings to clear out that full year of comments I’d made that I could still access. Everything before October 2024 however, is inaccessible… unless a bot (it HAS to be a bot being trained, nothing else - certainly not another user - can access archived posts and unarchive and comment on them…) happens to reply on a comment.
At that point I’m on it like a terrier on a rat.
Alluded to that if he was going to act like a selfish spoiled child, maybe he needed to be treated like one and spanked. It was in a thread where everyone was making allusions, including the guy that started the thread off by calling his actions immature.
I think it was more the tone of the whole thread, god knows I did not have the nastiest reply by a long shot. Would be interesting to see who else got turfed from that conversation. It happened within 30 seconds of me posting. So there was definitely some bot-involved housecleaning going on.
I kept my account - did not delete it - and it’s weird that even though it’s a banned account, I am still getting replies to ancient posts now and again, that I think are bot training efforts. When I get those, I can actually get to the otherwise inaccessible threads - which are ostensibly archived - and I go through the post and look and see if I made other comments and delete them. There is definitely some shit going on with banned users data. If you delete your account, your comments become nameless and “lost property”.
Naah… fuck that shit. I’ll hold onto my account, banned or not. At least I can rip out anything they open up and make accessible again.
And I will… with a vengeance.
I got kicked off Reddit for daring to speak my thoughts regarding Stephen Miller.
Duty now demands that I never look back.

Painter’s extension pole and a small 3-inch roller and a quart of black paint, will do the trick if the cameras are up high.

Last time I did… it wasn’t good.

Not rotting in a box?
Well, shit! Hm. Hope they find a buyer who maintains the products.
