Yeah dad I’m totally just a straight dude in a Godly child-bearing marriage. Definitely not a pansexual non-binary trans girl in a lesbian marriage with kids who call me mommy more often than not.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is a gender neutral honorific for non-binary folk?
1·2 months agoYou are correct in that “Mx” is most often pronounced as “mix”. It isn’t a direct abbreviation like “Mr” is to “Mister”, but rather derived as a neutral variant to those types of honorifics, so don’t over think it. This is the wild world of the English language after all

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is a gender neutral honorific for non-binary folk?
1·2 months agoOftentimes I just leave out honorifics when I am unsure of the gender or preferred terms of the person I am speaking with. If I know for a fact that they are non-binary then “Mx” can work, though not everyone is fond of it and I would hate to offend. Honestly I usually just substitute it in ways such as the below (though i speak pretty casually in general).
What can I do for you friend?
Sure thing love
Have a nice day hun

I think this is the most precise gender descriptor for me in existence
3 years into transition and still in the closet to most. Thanks to my spouse for having my back, but these are still lonely times

To go further, even the instruction “by the mouth” is ambiguous and could mean orally, buccally, or sublingually. Those all have different absorptions with the latter two being mucous membranes and therefore bypassing the liver, leading to different (generally better) bioavailability of medications dependent on the health of those tissues and the type of medication.

Is this near Point Mallard by chance?
