I like to seal it by twisting the end and setting it upside down so the weight holds it shut and then forgetting when I grab it the next time so everything spills out
This is the way. Obviously you have to eat the spillage to avoid food waste.

These are McVities Ginger Nuts, you could leave the end open for a week in the Amazon rainforest and they’d still be firm enough to shatter your incisors.

I do a little twist, and then push it against the wall.

Some people seal their package with a little tiny wire or a tiny piece of plastic. I do like OP. I seal my bags with the whole house.

Tangentially…those are distinctly not firey.
This must be a British thing because the only time I have ever seen this done is in Southeast Asian countries that used to be colonies.
